There are many places to eat on and off the resort, none of which are expensive. If you prefer to self cater for some or all meals there is a supermarket, the Ecomarche, in the nearby village of Buden. They stock many familiar brands of food and drink, as well as local fresh produce and wine There is also a cash point and petrol station there.
Salema, a fishing village, is the closest beach, which is only
5 minutes by car. It is walking distance but the steep road down (and back up) is quite narrow with no footpaths so a car journey is recommended. It is well worth it when you arrive as there is a very relaxed atmosphere with several restaurants, some on the beach, others set back in the village, and the beach is fabulous.
Lagos (which has a beautiful harbour) is a 15 minute
drive away where you'll find plenty of opportunities for shopping and a
lively nightlife.
There are the many coves along the south and west coasts which you can also explore. There are other water parks, sea life centres where you can swim with dolphins, and other historical places to visit, all no more than an hours drive away. From the resort itself the west coast is only 3-4 miles away cross country, so an opportunity to walk or mountain bike the scenic route for the more energetic holiday maker.
Car hire is relatively cheap and gives you the freedom to travel around the area
and the opportunity to explore this unspoilt area of the Algarve, or seek out a busier night life if that is your preference.
Idyllic and ideal for families and/or golfers
